Hi readers!
Yesterday, I went to Suntec city mall for an interview. Well, you didn’t see wrongly, I went to SUNTEC CITY MALL! Before I reached there, I was feeling all jittery and nervous (kind of) because I had never been travelling alone to somewhere which is so far apart from my place. Therefore, I was worried about whether could I reached there in time and if I could even find the mall but lucky there is something call map that can lead me to the mall. Phew. After I reached there, I struggled to find my way to the store.
I was relieved when I saw “ TOYS “R” US”(the word) fall upon me. Well before I get started on my story about the interview. Let’s just say that the mall was eerily quiet. It looks like the renovated version of zhen zhu fang. *shivering*. The store was quiet too with little customer shopping inside.
Ok. Then, I told one of the crew that I was there for interview and she led me to the office (which doesn’t look like one to me, it look more of a warehouse). Then, the manager (I suppose) came and interviewed me. She asked me for my age and when I said fifteen. She gave me the “Huh” look which I guess I got from other employers. Jerk. In my mail, I already stated that I am fifteen if they couldn’t hire someone so young they why do they ask me to come down for an interview? Obviously, they don’t read mail’s content. Well, then said that she will interview me then ask the head about the age requirement.
After that, she went asking questions like how much do I know about TOYS “R” US? How many outlets do they have? Where are they located? How much do you know about the job? Do you like kids? Do you have younger siblings? Do you do household chores?
She kept pouring questions to me and then she got me confused.
I thought I was there for an interview for the Santa’s helper then she went saying that they don’t have gift wrapping job and so on. Which means that they are interviewing me to hire me as normal crew? Haiz, I don’t think that I will get that job nor do I want to take up the job offer anymore. I guess that ends my job hunting.
However, I had sent letter to fairprice asking about the result of the job interview I attended last month. I hadn’t receive and mails or calls from them but I really want to know the result. Even if I didn’t not get the job; I still want to know the reasons behind it. Maybe I am too determined or too desperate for that job as my sister remarked.
I guess I just have to wait patiently for the reply.
Signing off,
Alexis.
